Your APA style term paper should include at best an introduction, body, and conclusion.

• The introduction- Note that the title of the page should be at the top of the page, but not in bold. The introduction reveals what the paper is about before you get into the paper. It summarizes what's to come, integrates a workable thesis, and evaluates. The intro should be captivating, not boring and should logically flow. You can mention resources in the introduction but one should not go into great detail.
• The body is the lengthiest part of the APA style paper. Introduction of main points that are relevant to backing up your thesis are noted in the body paragraph. Main points should be accompanied by theory and research that relates and backs your thesis or hypothesis.
• The conclusion signifies the end of the paper. This section serves to remind the reader about what the paper is about, key points related to your argument, and other relevant information.

Important Notes on Formatting your Paper

APA Style is very different from other formatting styles use, and is often one of the hardest to learn. At any rate there are some basic formatting rules that you should follow when using APA style formatting.

• You should not put page breaks within each section,
• Some sections need to have their own page. If you are conducting a research based study you title, abstract, references, and tables should be on a page of their very own.
• APA style requires that you only write in past tense form using 12-point font, double spaced, with one-inch margins.
• Title page should include your thesis, and the title should not be bolded.
• When creating your title page you have to create a page header that includes a running head left flush.
• Your abstract should be 120 words or less and the topic should be stated in one sentence.
